Mindy McCready back in Williamson County jail…
Well, the word is that Mindy McCready was arrested yesterday at Nashville International Airport, accused of probation violation. This all stems from last week’s arrest in her hometown of Ft. Myers, Florida. Allegedly, McCready got into a scuffle with her mom–which resulted in misdemeanor charges, as she allegedly scratched her mother’s face (notice the nice scratch on McCready’s and the bruised left cheek), and resisted arrest. McCready was on probation from her 1994 arrest, where she was charged with obtaining OxyContin with a fraudulent prescription, and has another probation violation charge pending from a DUI arrest. Of course, if this were me or you, we’d have been locked up long ago.
I don’t know what kind of issues she has going on, aside from the major issue of addiction, but I’m thinking she needs to get some help, and get serious about accepting that help and addressing her issues, or she is going to either be dead, or wind up spending the rest of her life in jail or on the streets. And I’d bet she’s in for some jail time now. I hope she gets some help, and gets serious about her recovery.

I heard something about her possibly having a broken nose–looks like a pretty good possibility from my end, as she sure looks like she is going to be sporting a couple of shiners. Sometimes you have to fall a really long way before you hit rock bottom. But like Wynonna sings about “when you hit rock bottom you’ve got two ways to go–straight up, or sideways”, so I’m thinking she’s tried the sideways part, and that hasn’t worked out so well. Maybe now we’ll see the straight up.
Mindy is definitely a disturbed individual and needs some serious therapy. She claims that she’s the way she is because of her childhood and her mother. She’s only repeating that with her son Zander now. What a pathetic life he has to look forward to.
I think there may indeed be issues that go all the way back to her childhood, but laying everything off on that is a cop-out in my book. I know that one of younger brothers got busted with a major quantity of ecstasy several years ago, and wound up doing time at a Fereral facility for that, so it’s not just her. But almost everybody has crap in their past that they can either let screw up their heads, or they can deal with it and move on. And it’s definitely a tragedy to be repeating the cycle with her own child, who deserves none of this crap. There are millions of people who would cut off a major body part to have had the shot she did. I stumbled on a quote from 2005 —”This isn’t something that happened overnight,” said Schatzi Hageman, a veteran Music Row publicist. “I quit working with her because I felt like there were lots of demons she was dealing with, and all too often the focus was on the drama and not on the actual talent and music itself.”—this says a lot to me, as Schatzi has been on the Row for a long time, I actually did some admin work for her years ago, and I know her reputation.
