Great 4th of July show this week!! Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Kim Carnes and more!!
The grand finale for Wednesday Night Wags, a six week series featuring music and art and benefitting Happy Tales in Franklin–a wonderful no-kill, not-for-profit animal shelter in Franklin, is set for this Wednesday night, which just happens to be the 4th of July. They’ve pulled out all of the stops for this one, and the artist line-up is a who’s who of some of the very best talent in the world!! Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Kim Carnes, Sam Bush, Mary Ann Kennedy, Jim Lauderdale, Pam Rose, plus Hamitups. Also SPECIAL GUESTS–and since we are, after all in Nashville, you just never know who that may be. Kim Carnes former duet partner, Gene Cotton, lives in Leiper’s Fork–and that’s just down the road. Rodney Crowell has already performed at an earlier show, but a lot of his friends are playing that night, and with John Hiatt–you never know what could happen (I do LOVE that man!!). Also, I’ve heard rumors of Delbert McClinton. Tickets for this event are $60, but for a evening filled with artists of this caliber, and the quality of music you’ll be enjoying, plus the all of the GOOD you will be doing for a great organization and all of the dogs and cats who just want a loving home–that’s a small price to pay!! Really, 100% of the ticket sales goes to Happy Tales Humane, as all of the artists have donated their time and talent (the Nashville artist community never ceases to both amaze me and make me proud of their support for our community and their charitable contributions!!), so get your tickets and head on down to the show. Plus, there’ll be an Artistic Free For All–with various incredibly talented artists selling a limited number of pieces of art in different mediums! You can even drop your kids off at Third Coast Clay to paint pottery while you’re enjoying the show–and they’ll donate 100% of the fees to Happy Tales Humane!! Boy, will you have points in your Karma Bank after this gig! And if you’re still reading this and haven’t already got your tickets–here’s your 4th of July treat–you can watch the Franklin 4th of July Fireworks!! How good does it get?! So–see some great artists, hear some great music, watch the fireworks, and do the world some good in the process!!
More information about the show can be found at the Wednesday Night Wags site, including a map, so check it out at www.wednesdaynightwags.com, and for information about Third Coast Clay, you can check out their site at www.thirdcoastclay.com.
