]]> One of my absolute favorite venues is the Ryman auditorium, you just can’t beat it for the sound quality.  And the atmosphere…what can I say, it’s holy ground for any music lover as the people who have played on that stage are legendary (you know it was originally built as a church-it opened as the Union Gospel Tabernacle in 1892), and artists love to play the Ryman for both of those reasons. 

The Ryman has a series of bluegrass shows going right now, on Thursday nights, and for a mere $22.50, you can see some of the best bluegrass talent anywhere, at one of the best venues anywhere!!  The lineups for the next three dates are as follows:  July 12–Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and Cherryholmes, July 19–Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder with Cadillac Sky, and July 26–Mountain Heart and The Grascals with Steep Canyon Rangers.  Rhonda Vincent & The Rage and Vince Gill have already been featured this summer.   Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, Kroger, Macy’s, the Ryman Box Office (615-889-3060), www.ryman.com, or 615-255-9600.  The Ryman address is 116 Fifth Avenue North, Nashville, TN  37219.

]]> Pink Spiders Teenage GraffitiNashville’s own Pink Spiders will be playing a hometown gig at the Exit/In on Monday, July 9th, and did I mention that it was FREE!! Doesn’t get much better than that, if you ask me! The show starts at 8:00, and features the Pink Spiders headlining, along with The Casual and Plastic Clap. The Spiders are taking a brief break from recording, as they just finished three new songs in L.A., working with producer Brendan O’Brien whose producing/engineering/mixing credits read like a who’s who in the last 15-20 years of rock (including artists such as Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Dan Baird, Limp Bizkit, Train, Bruce Springsteen, the great Billy Joe Shaver, The Bravery, Velvet Revolver, Aerosmith, Soundgarden, the Black Crowes, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers just to name a few), and will be heading to Atlanta to finish work on their upcoming release.
